The forum area is a safe place for you to share your experience, therefore we ask all users to read these guidelines before they participate in the forum.

Guidelines for the forum

  • Do not post anything you don’t have permission to publish. Please seek permission from the copyright owner before you upload material that doesn’t belong to you.
  • The purpose of the Female Genital Mutilation network is to provide a community for information and support. It is not appropriate to use the network to sell or promote either an event, product or service.
  • Whilst every effort will be made to ensure that this network is for the benefit of registered practitioners, it is potentially open to non health care practitioners. In the interest of protecting your privacy, we suggest that you do not post your personal details on the forum.
  • Do not post any offensive material, including any messages that may be offensive to others.

The administrators of the Female Genital Mutilation network have the right to take whatever action is necessary to ensure the message board is a safe and supportive place for all its users. Posts which are inappropriate or inflammatory will result in the user’s account being suspended and reviewed.

The content of the site is regularly moderated and every effort is made by the administrator to ensure that all postings are constructive and appropriate. However, in some cases, it is not always possible to review all messages before they are posted.

The opinions expressed in the Female Genital Mutilation network are those of the author and not necessarily the views of the Department of Health or the Royal College of Midwives.
