ACERS-UK PUBLISHES IN BJOG | Reconstructive surgery for women with female genital mutilation: A scoping review

We’re excited to announce our first publication in BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, a leading journal in women’s health since 1902.

“Reconstructive surgery for women with female genital mutilation: A scoping review” is live and freely accessible.

This scoping review, conducted using Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) guidelines, examines the indications, referral pathways, eligibility criteria, care routes, and clinical outcomes associated with reconstructive surgery for FGM.

This insightful work is a collaborative effort from dedicated members of ACERS-UK: Aurora Almadori, Stefania Palmieri, Christie Coho, Catrin Evans, Soheir Elneil, and Juliet Albert.
